Actively Black was launched in November of 2020 and has already become a multi-million dollar brand that is growing exponentially. From being the only Black owned brand at the Winter Olympics, outfitting Team Nigeria and also outfitting Team Nigeria at Summer Olympics Games Paris 2024  to having former President Barack Obama wearing the gear, to brand partnerships with Disney, Marvel, Muhammed Ali Estate and more, Actively Black is poised to be a global brand that can bring together the entire Diaspora.

Lanny Smith is the founder of Actively Black, a PREMIUM athleisure wear brand. Our mission is to uplift and re-invest back into the Black community and to improve the mental health and physical fitness of our people. We are not building an apparel brand. The clothes are just the uniform for the movement. Actively Black was launched in 2020 and has already become a multi-million dollar brand that is growing exponentially. Prior to founding Actively Black, Lanny started the Faith-based sports apparel brand Active Faith Sports and before that, signed with the Sacramento Kings before a knee injury abruptly ended his NBA career. Lanny is from Houston, Texas and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. His attitude is that we should stop asking for a seat at the table, and build our own tables.
