DAMIEN HOOPER-CAMPBELL
Damien Hooper-Campbell is a C-level leader and board director with more than 20 years of expertise in culture, executive development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), community engagement and sustainability. He is the first-ever Chief Impact Officer at StockX. In his current role, he leads the company’s global strategy on inclusion, philanthropy and community engagement, and co-leads its sustainability strategy. Prior to joining StockX, Damien served as the first Chief Diversity Officer at Zoom Video Communications. In this capacity, he led the build and implementation of Zoom’s global DEI strategy with a focus on its current and future employees and customers, its products and its communities, and also oversaw the buildout of Zoom's first global University Recruiting practice. He was also an inaugural member of the Board for Zoom Cares, the company's philanthropic and social impact program.
Prior to joining Zoom, Damien was a Vice President at eBay where he served as the company’s first Chief Diversity Officer. He also led eBay’s University Recruiting & Programs team and was a member of the eBay Foundation’s Board of Directors. Before eBay, Damien served as Uber’s first Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion and as a Diversity Strategist at Google. Prior to Google, he was a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Pine Street Leadership Development Group. Prior to Goldman, he held positions on the Board of Admissions at Harvard Business School and with the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation and Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division.
Damien is a member of the Board of Directors for Harry’s, Inc. and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). He serves as a member of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science Dean’s Advisory Board, the Chelsea Factory’s Advisory Council, and The Steve Fund’s Crisis Response Task Force and Corporate Leadership Council. Damien’s thought leadership on culture, DEI, leadership and community engagement has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Fortune, Forbes, Fast Company, TechCrunch, The Globe and Mail and TIME’s “Race in the Workplace” Series. Damien is a globally-recognized public speaker and has educated and inspired audiences through numerous keynote, moderator and panelist roles for more than 20 years.
Damien’s experience as Zoom’s first Chief Diversity Officer was brought into the academic realm as the focus of a Harvard Business School case that has been taught to second-year students for the past three years in the “Scaling Tech Ventures” course. He has also served as a guest lecturer on inclusive leadership in MBA courses for Harvard, Stanford and Columbia Universities.
Damien graduated with a BA in Economics from Morehouse College and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was both a Bert King and Morgan Stanley Fellow.
Damien is the Founder and CEO of Humanize, LLC, a leadership and inclusion consulting firm founded in 2022. Damien has been collecting art across genres - with a focus on artists from the African and Latinx diasporas - for nearly 20 years.
