ANGELIQUE JOSEPH
Angelique Joseph is the leading designer in the footwear industry. Currently she is the Senior Vice President of Product Design at Caleres overseeing the Naturalizer Global brands; 27 Edit, Naturalizer and Soul Naturalizer. She has been designing shoes for Caleres for almost 20 years. She became the Director of Naturalizer design in 2010, and during that time, Naturalizer has continued to elevate its look and feel and resonate more deeply with consumers. Angelique has been a driving force behind the brands success. She created the brands most inclusive skin tone collection, True Colors, recognizing that we are all not the same. Continuously creating commercial best seller’s, innovative and on trend styling all through a more fashion lens. Transforming the way, we view comfort and fashion. Naturalizer gained market share, moving up one position (to #11) in the Circana ranking for women's footwear. And in the last 3 years has gained 8 market share rank positions to #11 in 2024 vs. #19 in 2021. Angelique was an instrumental leader in the creation of the Naturalizer line extension of 27 Edit, their signature collection of fashion-first and elevated quality.
She has experience leading exclusive footwear collaborations with a variety of brands and designers including Tracy Reese – “Hope for Flowers”, Pnina Tornai, global wedding dress designer, Deepica Mutyala - Founder of Liv Tinted, and Universal Standard. She enjoys mentoring and educating others on the footwear industry. She piloted a practicum course with Washington University Olin Business School and Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, during the Spring semester of 2024. Prior to her time with Caleres, Angelique designed her own line of jewelry and worked in apparel design for the former May Departments Stores. She designed apparel for 9 years which included, Ready to Wear, Children’s and Intimate Apparel. Her career in design and product development spans a total of 27 years. Angelique’s creativity extends to her mixed media painting. Angelique holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Washington University of St. Louis. She is a wife and mother of three amazing people.
